PS5 Pro anounced

The most underappreciated change in the new console is the complete lack of the legacy USB Type-A ports. It also applies to PS5 Slim. I’m just glad to see the trend where more manufacturers completely drop USB Type-A ports.

I checked the front and back. Two ports in front now Type-C. In addition, there’s the extra port on the back, which is also Type-C. We all know the feeling of trying to guess a direction and plugging in a USB cable, getting it wrong every time.

I think it’s a good sign for USB-C. Industry takes ages for any transition and little wins like this help tremendously.

Update

I look like PS5 Pro still features outdated USB ports on the back of the console. That’s a shame because it is especially difficult to plug in USB-A when you can’t see it, using USB-C would be a greater design. It shows that Sony doesn’t care about details like that.

I am not only one confused by this.
